Altough they are among the most common benign tumors of the colon, colonic lipomas are quite rare. They are often asymtomatic but large ones may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, hemorrhage and intussusception. We report a case of colonic lipoma causing acute abdomen because of colo-colonic intussusception. Reduction was not attempted due to the risk of perforation while manipulating the inflamated and perhaps ischemic colonic segment. The patient was operated on succesfully. Colonic lipomas are benign, and they need no aditional treatment.
